Acts 3

1Peter and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth.

2And a certain man, lame from his mother's womb, was being carried, whom they placed daily at the temple gate called Beautiful to ask alms from those entering the temple.

3Seeing Peter and John about to enter the temple, he asked to receive alms.

4Peter, with John, fixed his gaze on him and said, "Look at us."

5He fixed his attention on them, expecting to receive something from them.

6But Peter said, "I have no silver or gold, but what I have, that I give you—in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, walk."

7And grasping him by the right hand, he raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones were strengthened.

8He leaped up, stood and walked, and entered the temple with them, walking, leaping, and praising God.

9And all the people saw him walking and praising God.

10They recognized him, realizing it was he who sat begging for alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple, and they were filled with wonder and astonishment at the thing that had happened to him.

11As he held Peter and John, all the people rushed to them in the portico called Solomon's, awe-struck.

12Seeing this, Peter addressed the people: "Fellow Israelites, why do you marvel at it, or why gaze intently at us as if by our own power or godliness we had made him walk?"

13The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus, whom you indeed handed over and denied in Pilate's presence when he had decided to release him.

14But you denied the holy and righteous one and asked for a man, a murderer, to be granted to you.

15But you killed the author of life, whom God raised from the dead, of whom we are witnesses.

16And by faith in his name, his name has strengthened this man whom you see and know; and the faith through him has given him this perfect soundness before you all.

17And now, brothers, I know that you acted in ignorance, just as your rulers did.

18But God thus fulfilled what he foretold through the mouths of all the prophets: that his Christ would suffer.

19Repent therefore and turn back, that your sins may be wiped away, so that seasons of renewal may come from the Lord's presence.

20so that times of refreshing may come from the Lord's presence, and he may send Christ Jesus, appointed for you.

21whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God spoke long ago through the mouth of his holy prophets.

22Moses indeed said, "The Lord your God will raise up for you from your brothers a prophet like me; you shall listen to him in everything he says to you."

23And every soul who will not listen to that prophet will be utterly destroyed from among the people.

24Yes, and all the prophets from Samuel and those in succession, as many as spoke, also proclaimed these days.

25You are sons of the prophets and of the covenant that God made with your fathers, saying to Abraham, "And in your seed all the families of the earth will be blessed."

26To you first, God raised up his servant and sent him to bless you by turning each of you from your wickednesses.
