Lumin Translation
Timothy 3
Faithful is the word: if anyone desires oversight, he desires a good work.
Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, a husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, and able to teach.
not a drunkard, not violent, but gentle, peaceable, free from love of money;
managing his own household well, having children in submission with all dignity.
But if anyone does not know how to manage his own house, how will he care for God's church?
not a recent convert, lest he become conceited and fall into the devil's condemnation.
Moreover, he must also have good testimony from outsiders, lest he fall into disgrace and the devil's snare.
Deacons likewise must be dignified, not duplicitous, not devoted to much wine, not fond of sordid gain.
possessing the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.
And let these also first be tested; then let them serve, being blameless.
Likewise their wives must be dignified, not slanderers, sober-minded, faithful in everything.
Deacons must be men of one wife, managing their children and their own households well.
For those who have served well acquire for themselves a good standing and great boldness in the faith in Christ Jesus.
I write these things to you, hoping to come to you soon.
But if I delay, you will know how one ought to conduct oneself in God's house, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.
And indisputably great is the mystery of godliness: who appeared in flesh, was vindicated in spirit, was seen by angels, was proclaimed among nations, was trusted in the world, taken up in glory.
