Lumin Translation

Peter 5

Therefore I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and witness of Christ's sufferings, and partaker of the glory about to be revealed.

Shepherd the flock of God among you, watching over them not by compulsion but willingly as God directs, nor for shameful profit but eagerly.

neither as domineering over the charges, but being examples to the flock.

And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.

Likewise, you younger ones, submit to the elders; all of you moreover clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.

Humble yourselves therefore under God's mighty hand, so that he may exalt you in season.

Cast all your anxiety upon him, because he cares for you.

Be sober and watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

Resist him steadfast in faith, knowing that the same sufferings are being accomplished in your brotherhood in the world.

But the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, establish, strengthen, and ground you after you have suffered a little.

To him be the dominion for the ages of the ages. Amen.

Through Silvanus, your faithful brother as I reckon him, I wrote to you in few words, urging and bearing witness that this is God's true grace. Stand firm in it.

Your fellow elect in Babylon greets you, and Mark my son greets you too.

Greet one another with a loving kiss. Peace to all of you in Christ.
