Nehemiah 3

1Then Eliashib the high priest, along with his fellow priests, rebuilt the Sheep Gate, consecrated it, and installed its doors, extending the consecration to the Tower of Hammeah and the Tower of Hananel.

2Beside him, men of Jericho built. Beside them, Zaccur son of Imri built.

3The sons of Hassenaah built the Fish Gate, positioned its beams, and installed its doors, bolts, and bars.

4Beside them Meremoth son of Uriah, son of Hakkoz, repaired. Beside them Meshullam son of Berechiah, son of Meshezabel, repaired. Beside them Zadok son of Baana repaired.

5Beside them the Tekoites rebuilt, but their nobles did not shoulder their Lord's work.

6Joiada son of Paseah and Meshullam son of Besodeiah restored the Old Gate. They fitted its beams, hung its doors, and added its locks and bars.

7Beside them, Melatiah the Gibeonite and Jadon the Meronothite, men of Gibeon and Mizpah, repaired the governor's seat beyond the River.

8Uzziel son of Harhaiah, of the goldsmiths, restored beside him. Hananiah, one of the perfumers, restored beside him too, and they strengthened Jerusalem to the broad wall.

9Rephaiah son of Hur, ruler of half the Jerusalem district, repaired beside them.

10Jedaiah son of Harumaph repaired beside them, opposite his house. Hattush son of Hashabneiah repaired beside him.

11Malchijah son of Harim and Hashub son of Pahath-Moab restored another stretch, along with the oven tower.

12Shallum son of Hallohesh, ruler of half the Jerusalem district, repaired beside him—he and his daughters.

13Hanun and the dwellers of Zanoah restored the Valley Gate, rebuilding it and installing its doors, bolts, and bars, along with a thousand cubits of wall to the Dung Gate.

14Malchijah son of Rechab, ruler of the Beth Haccherem district, repaired the dung gate, rebuilt it, and installed its doors, bolts, and bars.

15Shallun son of Colhozeh, ruler of the Mizpah district, repaired the Fountain Gate, rebuilding it, roofing it over, and installing its doors, bolts, and bars, along with the wall of Shelah's pool beside the king's garden to the stairs descending from David's city.

16After him Nehemiah son of Azbuk, ruler of half the Beth-zur district, repaired the place opposite David's tombs, the pool that was made, and the house of the mighty men.

17Rehum son of Bani the Levite restored the next section. Beside it Hashabiah, governor of half the Keilah district, restored his portion.

18After him their brothers made repairs, Bavvai son of Henadad, ruler of half the Keilah district.

19Beside him, Ezer son of Jeshua, ruler of Mizpah, rebuilt another stretch facing the ramp to the armory at the wall's bend.

20After him Baruch son of Zabbai repaired another section with zeal, from the wall's angle to the entrance of Eliashib the high priest's house.

21Meremoth son of Uriah son of Hakkoz repaired another section after him, from the entrance of Eliashib's house to its far end.

22After him, priests from the plain repaired.

23After them, Benjamin and Hashub restored the section facing their house. After them, Azariah son of Maaseiah son of Ananiah restored the section alongside his house.

24After him, Binnui son of Henadad rebuilt another stretch, from Azariah's house to where the wall bends at the corner.

25Palal son of Uzai restored the section facing the wall's bend and the tower projecting from the king's upper house, located beside the guard's courtyard. Pedaiah son of Parosh restored after him.

26The temple servants living in Ophel repaired to the spot opposite the Water Gate on the east, as far as the projecting tower.

27After him the Tekoites restored another section, opposite the large projecting tower, to the wall of Ophel.

28The priests repaired above the Horse Gate, each opposite his house.

29Then Zadok son of Immer repaired opposite his house. Shemaiah son of Shecaniah, guardian of the east gate, repaired after him.

30Hananiah son of Shelemiah, along with Hanun the sixth son of Zalaph, restored another section after him. Meshullam son of Berechiah restored the part opposite his chamber after him.

31After him, Malchijah, one of the goldsmiths, repaired up to the quarters of the Nethinim and the merchants, opposite the Miphkad Gate to the corner stairway.

32Goldsmiths and merchants repaired from the corner ascent to the sheep gate.
