Lumin Translation
Micah 6
Listen now to what Yahweh says: Arise, plead before the mountains, and let the hills hear your voice.
Hear, you mountains, Yahweh's dispute, and you enduring foundations of the earth; for Yahweh has a dispute with his people, and he will contend with Israel.
My people, what have I done to you? How have I wearied you? Testify against me!
For I brought you up from the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the house of slavery, and I sent before you Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.
My people, remember now what Balak king of Moab planned, and what Balaam son of Beor replied to him from Shittim to Gilgal, so that you may know Yahweh's righteous deeds.
How shall I come before Yahweh and bow to the exalted God? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with yearling calves?
Will Yahweh accept thousands of rams, or myriads of rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my rebellion, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
He has told you, man, what is good—and what does Yahweh seek from you but to do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with your God?
Yahweh's voice calls to the city, and wisdom fears your name: Hear the rod, and who has appointed it.
Are there yet storehouses of iniquity in the house of the wicked, and a meager ephah that is detestable?
Shall I be pure with wicked scales and a bag of deceitful stones?
Whose rich are filled with violence, her dwellers speak lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth.
Therefore I have also made you sick in striking you, in making you desolate because of your sins.
You will eat but remain unsatisfied, and your downfall will be within you. You will gather, but not deliver; whatever you deliver I will give to the sword.
You will sow but won't reap; you will tread olives but won't anoint yourself with oil; and new wine, but won't drink wine.
You observe the customs of Omri and all the deeds of Ahab's house, following their plans, so that I will make you a desolation and its inhabitants a hissing, and you will bear the shame of my people.
