Micah 4

1In the last days the mountain of Yahweh's house will stand at the head of the mountains, raised high above the hills, and all nations will stream toward it.

2Many nations will come and say, "Come, let us ascend Yahweh's mountain and the house of Jacob's God; he will reveal his ways to us, and we will follow his paths." For from Zion instruction will go forth, and Yahweh's word from Jerusalem.

3He will judge among many peoples and correct mighty nations far away. They will hammer their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning knives. Nation will not raise sword against nation, nor will they learn war again.

4They will sit, each beneath his vine and his fig tree, and none will frighten his neighbor, for the mouth of Yahweh of hosts has spoken.

5All nations will walk in the name of their gods, but we will walk in the name of Yahweh our God forever and ever.

6In that day, declares Yahweh, I will assemble the lame, gather the outcasts, and those I have afflicted.

7I will make the lame a remnant and those driven far away a strong nation, and Yahweh will reign over them on Mount Zion from that time onward, forever.

8You, tower of the flock, hill of Zion's daughter—to you comes the former rule, the kingdom of Jerusalem's daughter.

10Writhe and labor, daughter Zion, like a woman in childbirth—for now you leave the city, dwell in the open fields, and reach Babylon. There rescue comes to you; there Yahweh ransoms you from your enemies' power.

11Now many nations gather against you, saying, "Let her be defiled, and let our eyes look upon Zion."

12But they do not know Yahweh's plans or understand his purpose, for he has gathered them like sheaves to the threshing floor.

13Arise and thresh, daughter Zion, for I will make your horn iron and your hooves bronze; you will shatter many nations, and I will dedicate their plunder to Yahweh and their riches to the sovereign Yahweh of all the earth.
