Song of Solomon 6

Where has your beloved gone, most beautiful among women? Where has your beloved turned, that we may seek him with you?

My beloved has gone down to his garden, to the spice beds, to feed in the gardens and to gather lilies.

I belong to my beloved, and my beloved belongs to me—he who grazes among the lilies.

You are beautiful, my love, like Tirzah, lovely like Jerusalem, fearsome like bannered armies.

Turn your eyes away from me, for they have overpowered me. Your hair is like a flock of goats descending from Gilead.

Your teeth are like a flock of ewes that have come up from the washing, every one bearing twins, none barren among them.

Your temples are like a slice of pomegranate behind your locks.

Sixty queens there are, eighty concubines, and virgins beyond number.

My dove, my flawless one, stands alone; she alone of her mother, the purest of her who bore her. The daughters saw her and blessed her; queens and concubines praised her.

Who is she who peers forth as the dawn, beautiful as the moon, bright as the sun, fearsome as troops with banners?

I went down to the garden of nuts to see the fresh shoots of the valley, to see whether the vine had blossomed and the pomegranates had budded.

Before I knew it, my soul set me among the chariots of my noble people.

Return, return, Shulamite; return, return, that we may gaze at you. What do you gaze at in the Shulamite—like the dance of the two armies?
