1These are the people of the province who came up from the captivity of the exile, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had deported to Babylon, and who returned to Jerusalem and Judah, each to his city.

2who came in the company of Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Seraiah, Reeliah, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mizpar, Bigvai, Rehum, Baanah. The number of the men of the people of Israel:

58All the Nethinim and the sons of Solomon's servants numbered three hundred ninety-two.

59These were the ones who came up from Tel Melah, Tel Harsha, Cherub, Addan, and Immer, but they could not certify their fathers' house and their offspring, whether they belonged to Israel.

60Delaiah's sons, Tobiah's sons, Nekoda's sons, six hundred fifty-two.

61And from the sons of the priests: the sons of Habaiah, the sons of Hakkoz, the sons of Barzillai, who took a wife from the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite and was called by their name.

62These sought their register among those reckoned by genealogy, but they were not found, and so were defiled from the priesthood.

63The Tirshatha said to them not to eat any of the most holy things until a priest stands up with Urim and Thummim.

64The entire congregation together was forty-two thousand three hundred sixty.

65Besides their male servants and their female servants, these numbered seven thousand three hundred thirty-seven, and they had two hundred singing men and singing women.

66Their horses were seven hundred thirty-six; their mules, two hundred forty-five.

67Their camels, four hundred thirty-five; their donkeys, six thousand seven hundred twenty.

68Some family heads, when they came to the house of Yahweh which is in Jerusalem, offered willingly for the house of God to erect it upon its foundation.

69According to their ability they gave to the storehouse for the work sixty-one thousand gold darics, five thousand silver minas, and one hundred priests' garments.

70The priests, Levites, some from the people, singers, gatekeepers, and Nethinim settled in their cities, and all Israel in their cities.
