Ezra 1
Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, to accomplish Yahweh's word from the mouth of Jeremiah, Yahweh roused the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, and he proclaimed throughout all his kingdom, and also in writing, saying.
Thus says Cyrus, king of Persia: Yahweh, God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth, and he has charged me to build him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah.
Whoever of all his people is among you—may his God accompany him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of Yahweh, God of Israel: he is the God in Jerusalem.
Whoever remains in any place where he dwells, let the men of his place support him with silver, gold, possessions, and livestock, besides the voluntary offering for the house of God in Jerusalem.
The heads of the ancestral houses of Judah and Benjamin, the priests, and the Levites—everyone whose spirit God had roused—arose to go up and build the house of Yahweh in Jerusalem.
All around them strengthened their hands with silver vessels, gold, goods, livestock, and precious gifts, besides all that was freely offered.
King Cyrus brought out the vessels of the house of Yahweh, which Nebuchadnezzar had brought out from Jerusalem and put in the house of his gods.
Cyrus, king of Persia, delivered them through Mithredath the treasurer, and counted them to Sheshbazzar, the prince of Judah.
These were their numbers: thirty gold platters, one thousand silver platters, twenty-nine knives.
thirty gold basins, four hundred ten silver basins of a second kind, and one thousand other vessels.
All gold and silver vessels totaled five thousand four hundred. Sheshbazzar brought up every one with the exiles when they came up from Babylon to Jerusalem.
