Titus 3

1Remind them to submit to rulers and authorities, to obey, and to be ready for every good work.

2to revile no one, to be peaceable and yielding, showing all meekness toward all people.

3For we too were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, enslaved to desires and pleasures of every kind, passing life in malice and envy, detestable and hating one another.

4But when the kindness and love for humanity of God our Savior appeared,

5He saved us not out of righteous deeds that we ourselves performed, but in accord with his mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit.

6whom he poured out richly upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior,

7so that, justified by his grace, we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

8This statement is reliable, and concerning these things I want you to insist firmly, so that those who have trusted God may be careful to devote themselves to good works. These things are good and beneficial for people.

9But shun foolish controversies, genealogies, contentions, and legal battles, for they are unprofitable and futile.

10Avoid a divisive man after a first and second admonition.

11knowing that such a one has turned aside and sins, being self-condemned.

12When I send Artemas to you, or Tychicus, make every effort to come to me in Nicopolis, for I have decided to winter there.

13Send Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their journey diligently, so that nothing is lacking for them.

14And let our people also learn to devote themselves to good works to meet urgent needs, so that they are not unfruitful.

15Those with me greet you. Greet those who love us in faith. Grace be with you all.
