Jude 1

1Jude, servant of Jesus Christ and brother of James, to the called, loved by God the Father and kept for Jesus Christ.

2May mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you.

3Beloved, while making every effort to write to you about our shared salvation, I had necessity to write to you instead, urging you to contend vigorously for the faith once delivered to the saints.

4For certain people slipped in unnoticed—those marked out long ago for this judgment, godless men who pervert our God’s grace into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

5Now I want to remind you, though you once knew all this, that Jesus saved a people from the land of Egypt but afterward destroyed those who did not believe.

6Even angels who did not guard their own domain but abandoned their proper dwelling, he has kept in eternal bonds under gloom for the judgment of the great day.

7As Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them, in like manner as these, having given themselves over to fornication and gone after other flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the punishment of eternal fire.

8Yet likewise these dreamers indeed defile flesh, but reject dominion and blaspheme glories.

9But Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil while disputing about Moses' body, did not dare bring a judgment of blasphemy against him, but said, "May the Lord rebuke you!"

10But these indeed blaspheme whatever they do not know; but whatever they understand naturally, like the brute beasts, in these things they are corrupted.

11Woe to them! For they went in Cain's way, plunged into Balaam's delusion for reward, and perished in Korah's rebellion.

12These are reefs in your love feasts, feasting fearlessly alongside you while feeding themselves; waterless clouds carried along by winds; late-autumn trees, fruitless, twice dead, uprooted.

13Raging waves of the sea, foaming up their own disgrace; wandering stars, for whom the gloom of darkness has been kept forever.

14Enoch, the seventh from Adam, also prophesied about these, saying, "Behold, the Lord came with his holy myriads."

15to render judgment against all and to convict all the ungodly for all their deeds of ungodliness in which they acted ungodly, and for all the harsh things that ungodly sinners spoke against him.

16These are grumblers and faultfinders, pursuing their desires; their mouth speaks haughty words, admiring persons for advantage's sake.

17But you, beloved, remember the words foretold by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ.

18They told you that in the last time there will be scoffers pursuing their own ungodly lusts.

19These are the dividers, unspiritual and without the Spirit.

20But you, beloved, build yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.

21Protect yourselves in God's love, awaiting the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.

22And show mercy even to some who doubt.

23Save some by snatching them from fire, but pity others in fear while hating even the garment defiled by the flesh.

24Now to him who can guard you from stumbling and present you blameless before his glory in exultation.

25To the only God our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord be glory, majesty, might, and authority before all time, now and forever. Amen.
