22. But I tell you, everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to the judgment; and whoever says to his brother, “Raca,” will be liable to the council; and whoever says, “Fool,” will be liable to the hell of fire.
23. Therefore, if you bring your gift to the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you,
24. Leave your gift there before the altar, go first and be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.
25. Be agreeable to your adversary quickly while you are with him on the way, lest the adversary hand you over to the judge, and the judge to the officer, and you be thrown into prison.
26. Truly I say to you, by no means will you get out from there until you have paid the last penny.
27. You have heard that it was said, "Do not commit adultery."
28. But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman to desire her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
29. If your right eye makes you stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from you, for it is better for you that one of your members perish than your whole body be cast into hell.
30. And if your right hand makes you stumble, cut it off and cast it from you, for it profits you that one of your members perish rather than your whole body go into hell.
31. It was said moreover, "Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce."
32. But I tell you that whoever divorces his wife, except on account of sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.
33. Again you heard that it was said to the ancients: "You shall not swear falsely, but shall pay to the Lord your oaths."
34. But I say to you, do not swear at all; neither by heaven, because it is God's throne.
35. neither by the earth, because it is the footstool for his feet; neither by Jerusalem, because it is the city of the great King.
36. Nor swear by your head, because you cannot make one hair white or black.
