10. Then he said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.”
11. There will be great earthquakes along with famines and plagues in various places, and terrors and great signs from heaven.
12. But before all these, they will lay their hands upon you and persecute you, delivering you to synagogues and prisons, as you are led before kings and rulers for my name's sake.
13. It will become a testimony for you.
14. Therefore, resolve in your hearts not to premeditate how to defend yourselves.
15. For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries will not be able to withstand or contradict.
16. You will be betrayed even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death.
17. And you will be hated by all because of my name.
18. Yet no hair from your head will perish.
19. Gain your lives by your endurance.
20. But when you see armies encircling Jerusalem, then recognize that its desolation has drawn near.
21. Then those in Judea must flee to the mountains, those in her midst must depart, and those in the countryside must not enter her.
22. For these are days of vengeance for all that is written to be fulfilled.
23. Woe to pregnant women and to those who are nursing in those days! For great distress will come upon the land, and wrath against this people.
24. And they will fall by the sword's edge and be taken captive into all nations, and Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the seasons of the Gentiles are completed.
25. And there will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars, and on earth anguish among nations in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and waves.
26. People will faint from fear and expectation of the things coming upon the world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
27. And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
28. But when these things begin to happen, look up and raise your heads, because your redemption draws near.
29. And he spoke a parable to them: "Look at the fig tree and all the trees."
30. When they are already budding, you see and know for yourselves that the summer is already near.
31. So you too, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near.
32. Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all things take place.
33. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
34. But be on guard for yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with dissipation, drunkenness, and worldly anxieties, and that day come upon you suddenly.
35. For it will come like a snare on all those dwelling on the face of the whole earth.
36. Keep watch in every season, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things about to happen and to stand before the Son of Man.
37. He spent the days teaching in the temple, and the nights going out to lodge on the mount called Olives.
38. And all the people would come early in the morning to him in the temple to hear him.
