19. And the scribes and chief priests sought to lay hands on him in that hour, but they feared the people, for they knew that he had spoken this parable against them.
20. And keeping watch, they sent spies feigning themselves righteous, in order to catch him in his word so as to deliver him to the rule and authority of the governor.
21. And they asked him, "Teacher, we know that you speak and teach correctly, show no partiality, but teach the way of God in truth."
22. Is it lawful for us to give tribute to Caesar, or not?
23. But he discerned their craftiness and said to them,
24. Show me a denarius. Whose image and inscription does it bear? They answered and said, "Caesar's."

26. And they were unable to seize his statement before the people, but marveling at his answer, they fell silent.

28. Saying, “Teacher, Moses wrote to us, if a man’s brother dies having a wife, and he is childless, his brother should take the wife and raise up offspring for his brother.”
