13. No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will hold fast to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and Mammon.
14. Now the Pharisees, who were greedy for money, heard all these things and sneered at him.
15. He said to them, "You are those who declare yourselves righteous before people, but God knows your hearts, for what is exalted among people is an abomination before God."
16. The law and prophets were valid until John; since then God's kingdom is preached, and everyone forces a way into it.

26. And beyond all this, between us and you a great gulf stands fixed, so that those desiring to pass from here to you cannot, nor from there to us can any cross over.
27. He said, "I beg you therefore, father, to send him to my father's house."

29. But Abraham said, "They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them."
