20. He got up and went to his own father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him, felt deep compassion, ran, fell on his neck, and kissed him.
21. The son said to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you; I am no longer worthy to be called your son.”
22. But the father said to his servants, "Quickly bring out the finest robe and clothe him in it; put a ring on his hand and shoes on his feet."
23. And bring the fatted calf, kill it, and let us eat and rejoice.
24. Because this son of mine was dead and came back to life, he was lost and was found. And they began to rejoice.
25. Meanwhile his elder son was in the field, and as he came near the house, he heard music and dancing.
26. And calling one of the servants to him, he asked what these things might be.

28. He grew angry and refused to enter, but his father came out and urged him.

31. But he said to him, “Son, you are always with me, and all that is mine is yours.”
32. But it was fitting to celebrate and rejoice, because this brother of yours was dead and came to life; he was lost and was found.
