9. When they stepped onto the land, they saw a charcoal fire lying there, fish laid on it, and bread.
10. Jesus said to them, "Bring some of the fish you just caught."
11. Simon Peter therefore climbed up and dragged the net ashore, full of large fish, one hundred fifty-three; and though there were so many, the net was not torn.
12. Jesus said to them, "Come have breakfast." None of the disciples dared question him, "Who are you?" knowing it was the Lord.
13. Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and likewise the fish.
14. This was now the third time Jesus appeared to his disciples after he had been raised from the dead.
15. After they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?" He said to him, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you." He said to him, "Feed my lambs."
16. He said to him again, the second time, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?" He said to him, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you." He said to him, "Shepherd my sheep."
17. He said to him a third time, "Simon son of John, do you love me?" Peter was grieved because he had said to him a third time, "Do you love me?" He replied, "Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you." Jesus said to him, "Feed my sheep."
18. Truly, truly, I tell you, when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked wherever you wanted; but when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and carry you where you do not want.
19. He said this, signifying by what death he would glorify God. And having said this, he said to him, "Follow me."
20. Peter turned around and saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following—the one who had also leaned on his chest at supper and said, "Lord, who is the one betraying you?"
21. So when Peter saw him, he said to Jesus, "Lord, but what of this one?"
22. Jesus said to him, "If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you? You, follow me."
23. So this report spread among the brothers that that disciple does not die. Jesus did not tell him, however, that he does not die, but, "If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you?"
24. This is the disciple who bears witness concerning these things and who wrote them, and we know that his testimony is true.
25. There are also many other things that Jesus did, which if every one were written, I suppose even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.
