17. Certain men among the elders of the land stood up and said to all the assembly of the people, saying.
18. Micah the Morashtite prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah and said to all the people of Judah: "This is what Yahweh of hosts says: Zion will be plowed like a field, Jerusalem will become heaps, and the mountain of the house will be like high places of a forest."
19. Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah kill him at all? Did he not fear Yahweh and seek Yahweh's face, and Yahweh turn from the disaster that he had pronounced against them? Would we then commit great evil against our souls?
20. There was also a certain man prophesying in the name of Yahweh, Uriah son of Shemaiah from Kiriath-jearim, who prophesied against this city and this land like all the words of Jeremiah.
21. When King Jehoiakim, all his warriors, and all the officials heard his words, the king sought to kill him. But when Uriah heard, he was afraid, fled, and went to Egypt.
22. King Jehoiakim sent men to Egypt, Elnathan son of Achbor and other men with him, to Egypt.
23. They brought Uriah out from Egypt and brought him to King Jehoiakim, who struck him with the sword and threw his carcass into the graves of the sons of the people.
