5. I myself will fight against you with a hand stretched out and a strong arm, in anger, fury, and great indignation.
6. I will strike the inhabitants of this city, people and animals; they will die by a great plague.

Afterward, says Yahweh, I will hand Zedekiah king of Judah, his servants, the people, and those remaining in this city over from plague, sword, and famine to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, to their foes, and to those seeking their lives; he will strike them by the sword, showing them no mercy, no compassion, no pity.
8. Say to this people: Thus says Yahweh, Behold, I set before you the way of life and the way of death.
9. Whoever dwells in this city will die by sword, famine, and plague, but whoever goes out and surrenders to the Chaldeans besieging you will live and live, his life a spoil to him.
10. For I have directed my face against this city for calamity and not for good, declares Yahweh: it will be given into the hand of Babylon's king, and he will burn it with fire.

13. Here I am against you, dweller in the valley, rock of the plain, declares Yahweh, who say, "Who will come down against us, or who will enter our dwellings?"
14. I will repay you according to the fruit of your deeds, says Yahweh; I will set fire to her forest, and it will consume everything around her.
