6. For Yahweh has called you like a wife deserted and pained in spirit, a wife of your youth when rejected, says your God.
7. For a brief moment I forsook you, but with great compassion I will gather you.
8. In an outburst of wrath I hid my face from you for a moment, but with everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you, says Yahweh your Redeemer.
9. For this is like the waters of Noah to me; as I have sworn that the waters of Noah will no more pass over the earth, so I have sworn that I will not be angry with you nor rebuke you.
10. For the mountains may depart and the hills be shaken, but my steadfast love will not depart from you, nor my covenant of peace be removed, says Yahweh who shows you mercy.
11. Afflicted, storm-tossed, and uncomforted—behold, I will set your stones in glistening colors and lay your foundations with sapphires.
12. I will make your pinnacles of agate, your gates of carbuncle stones, and all your walls of pleasing stones.
13. All your children will be taught by Yahweh, and your children will have great peace.
14. You will be firm in righteousness; distant from oppression, for you will not tremble, and from dismay, for it will not come to you.
15. Behold, they shall surely assemble, but not from me: whoever assembles against you shall fall because of you.
16. Behold, I have created the smith who blows coals in the fire and brings forth a weapon for his work; and I have created the destroyer to bring ruin.
17. No weapon formed against you will succeed, and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of Yahweh's servants, and their righteousness comes from me, says Yahweh.
