17. Dread, pit, and snare are upon you, dweller of the earth.
18. The one fleeing from the sound of terror will fall into the pit, and the one climbing from the midst of the pit will be caught in the snare; for windows on high have opened, and the foundations of the earth tremble.
19. The earth shatters utterly. The earth ruptures completely. The earth totters violently.
20. The earth will stagger like a drunkard and sway like a hut; its transgression will lie heavy upon it, and it will fall and rise no more.
21. On that day Yahweh will punish the host of the heights on high, and the kings of the earth on the earth.
22. They will be gathered like prisoners into the pit and locked in prison, and after many days they will be visited.
23. The moon will be ashamed, and the sun put to shame, for Yahweh of hosts will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, and before his elders glory.
