10. In that day the root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples; nations will seek him, and his resting place will be glorious.
11. In that day the Lord will reach out his hand a second time to recover the remnant of his people who remain, from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from Cush, from Elam, from Shinar, from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.
12. He will raise a banner for the nations, bring together Israel's exiles, and collect Judah's scattered ones from the four corners of the earth.
13. The envy of Ephraim will depart, and the adversaries of Judah will be cut off; Ephraim will not envy Judah, and Judah will not distress Ephraim.
14. They will swoop upon the shoulder of the Philistines westward, together plundering the sons of the east; they will stretch out their hand over Edom and Moab, and the sons of Ammon will obey them.
15. Yahweh will destroy the bay of the Egyptian sea and wave his hand over the River with his mighty wind, striking it into seven streams and guiding them across in sandals.
16. There will be a highway for the remnant of his people that remains from Assyria, like the one for Israel in the day of his ascent from the land of Egypt.
