21. But if the wicked turns from all his sins that he committed and keeps all my statutes and does justice and righteousness, he will surely live; he will not die.
22. All his transgressions that he has done will not be remembered against him; he will live by the righteousness that he has done.
23. Do I take any delight in the death of the wicked? declares the Lord Yahweh; rather that he turn from his ways and live.
24. But when the righteous turns from his righteousness and commits injustice like all the detestable acts the wicked does, will he live? None of his righteous deeds that he performed will be remembered; in his unfaithfulness that he practiced and in his sin that he committed, by those he will die.
25. Yet you say, "The Lord's way is not fair." Hear now, house of Israel: Is my way not fair? Are not your ways unfair?
26. When the righteous turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity and dies because of them, he shall die for his iniquity that he has done.
27. Again, when a wicked person turns from his wickedness that he committed and does justice and righteousness, he will keep his soul alive.
28. He considers and turns back from all his transgressions that he has done; he will surely live—he will not die.
29. The house of Israel says, "The Lord's way is not just." House of Israel, are not my ways just? Are not your ways unjust?
30. Therefore I will judge each of you, house of Israel, according to his ways, says the Lord Yahweh. Return and turn back from all your transgressions, so iniquity will not become a stumbling block to you.
31. Throw away from yourselves all your transgressions in which you have rebelled, and make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit: why will you die, house of Israel?
32. For I take no delight in the death of the one who dies, says the Lord Yahweh; return and live.
