13. And you, speak to the children of Israel, saying, “Surely keep my Sabbaths, for it is a sign between me and you for your generations, that you may know I am Yahweh who sanctifies you.”
14. You shall keep the Sabbath, for it is holy to you; whoever defiles it shall certainly die, for everyone who does work on it—that person shall be cut off from the midst of their people.
15. Six days work shall be done, but on the seventh day is a sabbath rest, holy to Yahweh; whoever does any work on the sabbath day shall surely be put to death.
16. The children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath to observe it throughout their generations as an everlasting covenant.
17. It is a sign between me and the sons of Israel forever, for in six days Yahweh made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested and refreshed himself.
18. When he finished speaking with him on Mount Sinai, he gave Moses two tablets of the testimony, stone tablets written with God's finger.
