Translated from Hebrew and Greek with AI, then checked for clarity and fidelity.

1. Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us purify ourselves from all filthiness of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
2. Make room for us. We wronged no one, corrupted no one, took advantage of no one.
3. I speak not by way of condemnation, for I have said before that you are in our hearts to die together and live together.
4. I have great boldness toward you, great boasting on your behalf. Comfort fills me; I overflow with joy in all our affliction.
5. For even when we arrived in Macedonia, our flesh found no relief, but in every way we faced pressures—battles outside, fears inside.
6. But God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the arrival of Titus.
7. Not only by his coming, but also by the comfort he received from you, when he told us of your longing, your mourning, and your zeal for me, so that I rejoiced even more.
8. For though I grieved you with the letter, I do not regret it; though I did regret it—for I see that that letter grieved you, even if only for a moment.
9. Now I rejoice, not because you grieved, but because you grieved unto repentance; for you grieved according to God, so that you might suffer no loss from us in anything.
10. For sorrow according to God produces repentance to salvation without regret, but sorrow of the world produces death.
11. For see, this same godly sorrow—what diligence it produced in you! What defense, what indignation, what fear, what longing, what zeal, what vindication! In everything you proved yourselves pure in the matter.
12. So although I wrote to you, it was not for the sake of the wrongdoer, nor for the sake of the wronged one, but so that your earnestness for us might be revealed to you before God.
13. For this reason we have been comforted, and in our comfort we rejoiced all the more over Titus's joy, because his spirit has been refreshed by all of you.
14. For if I have boasted to him about you in any way, I was not put to shame, but as we spoke everything to you in truth, so also our boasting before Titus proved true.
15. And his affections toward you abound even more as he remembers the obedience of all of you, how with fear and trembling you received him.
16. I rejoice because in every respect I am confident in you.
