13. For Solomon had made a bronze platform five cubits long, five cubits wide, and three cubits high, and set it in the middle of the court; he stood on it and knelt on his knees before the whole assembly of Israel, spreading his hands toward heaven.
14. He said, "Yahweh, God of Israel, no God is like you in the heavens or on the earth, who keep covenant and kindness for your servants who walk before you with all their heart."

18. But will God truly dwell with humans on the earth? See, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain you; how much less this house that I have built!

24. If your people Israel are defeated before the enemy because they have sinned against you, and they turn back and acknowledge your name, and pray and plead before you in this house,
25. You hear from heaven and forgive the sin of your people Israel, and bring them back to the land that you gave them and their fathers.
26. When the heavens are restrained and no rain falls because they have sinned against you, and they pray toward this place, confess your name, and turn from their sin, when you afflict them.
27. You will hear from heaven and forgive the sin of your servants and your people Israel when you direct them to the good way in which they should walk, and send rain on your land, which you gave to your people as an inheritance.
28. If there is famine in the land, if plague breaks out, if there is blight and yellowing, locusts and caterpillars; if their enemies besiege them in the land at their city gates; every affliction and every illness.
29. Every prayer, every supplication that shall be for any person or for all your people Israel, when they know each his own plague and his own grief and spreads out his hands toward this house.
30. you hear from heaven, your dwelling place, forgive, and repay every man according to all his ways, whose heart you know—for you alone know the hearts of humankind.
31. that they may fear you and walk in your ways all the days they live upon the land you gave our fathers.
32. Also, the foreigner who is not from your people Israel, when he comes from a distant land because of your great name, your strong hand, and your outstretched arm, and when they come and pray toward this house,
33. Hear from heaven, from your dwelling place, and do everything the foreigner calls to you for, so all peoples of the earth may know your name and fear you, as your people Israel do, and know that your name is called upon this house that I have built.
34. When your people go out to war against their enemies along the way you send them, and they pray to you toward this city that you have chosen and the house that I have built for your name,
35. Hear from heaven their prayer and their plea, and render them justice.
36. If they sin against you—for there is no person who does not sin—and you grow angry with them and hand them over before the enemy, so their captors carry them to a distant land or a nearby one,
37. yet if they come to their senses in the land where they were taken captive, and turn back and entreat you in the land of their captivity, saying, “We have sinned, acted perversely, and behaved wickedly”;
38. If they return to you with all their heart and all their soul in the land of their captivity, where they carried them captive, and pray facing their land that you gave their fathers, the city you chose, and the house I built for your name.
39. Hear from heaven, from the place where you dwell, their prayer and their supplications, do justice for them, and forgive your people who have sinned against you.
40. Now, my God, please let your eyes be open and your ears attentive to the prayer of this place.
41. Now arise, Yahweh God, to your resting place—you and the ark of your strength; let your priests, Yahweh God, be clothed in deliverance, and let your faithful ones rejoice in goodness.
42. Yahweh God, do not turn away the face of your anointed; remember the lovingkindnesses of David your servant.
